A few weeks ago, in the WREC open-build we disassembled an old television with a cathode-ray tube (CRT). In the process we learned a bit about how CRT works. Most of the students were not familiar with CRT televisions. Here’s a picture that shows the concept:

When we finished taking apart the TV, everybody wanted to know what would happen if you broke the CRT tube. So this weekend I decided to demonstrate.
